Join us for the 3rd Annual VYCC Alumni Rendezvous at the home of the VYCC at the West Monitor Barn in Richmond, on Columbus Day Weekend, Saturday October 6, 2007. Over the past few years, the Alumni Rendezvous has been a resounding success. Attendance at these events has been over 100 past Crew Leaders, Corps Members, and HQ Staff each year, and for 2007 we plan to double that!
Spread the word to all your VYCC friends, and we look forward to seeing you on October 6th!.
This years rendezvous will be an event not to be missed, it will include trail building workshops, apple cider pressing, pumpkin carving, flower planting for the spring, a BBQ and live music!
Alumni are the history and the future of the VYCC. It has been great to have so many folks at past events, and we look forward to seeing you again this fall!
The VYCC is a statewide, year-round, non-profit conservation and education organization with the mission of teaching individuals to take personal responsibility for their actions. Each year we enroll over 300 Corps Members and full-time AmeriCorps Members, aged 16-24, to work, live, and study together in small groups. All of our crews complete priority conservation, agriculture, park management, and disaster relief projects throughout Vermont and beyond under the guidance of highly trained leaders. Since 1985 the VYCC has provided young people from every county and nearly every town in Vermont the opportunity to gain valuable natural resource training and education. The VYCC has completed several million dollars worth of priority conservation work in Vermont through partnerships with agencies and organizations, such as the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, Vermont Agency of Transportation, Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and Vermont's Green Mountain Club.
